Dean Bruce brings nearly 30 years of elevator industry experience spanning field work, maintenance management, inspection, and regulation. A journeyman elevator constructor and journeyman electrician, he began as a maintenance mechanic with Otis Canada, then managed maintenance, service, and open-order operations for Otis and maintenance routes for ThyssenKrupp Elevator in Alberta. At Otis, he received a Service Excellence Award and helped negotiate major modernization contracts.
Dean later worked as a safety codes officer and Qualified Elevator Inspector before serving as Alberta's Chief Technical Administrator for elevating devices, amusement rides, and passenger ropeways. In that role he led the creation of a new provincial regulation and oversaw code interpretation and enforcement. He has served on the CSA B44 Technical Committee and the ASME/CSA New Technology Committee, giving clients an insider's understanding of code requirements, inspections, and compliance planning.
